Svenska Spel Hires New CEO
31/05/2011, Casino
Svenska Spel is a state-owned company launched in 1997 by the merger of the two state companies Penninglotteriet ("The money lottery") and Tipstjänst ("Tip service"). The company is operating in the regulated gambling market in Sweden. Last week, a financial and banking executive has been named as the CEO of the Swedish gambling monopoly Svenska Spel. Lennart Kall will replace the temporary chief Anders Hagg, the company's CFO. The new CEO of the Swedish Svenska Spel is the ex-chief of Wasa Kredit and a man who has built a career in banking and finance. Lennart Kall has held other senior posts in the Swedish banking and financial system as well, including management positions at TryggFinans, SEB Finans and ICA Banken. Anitra Steen, chairman of the Svenska Spel, said the company was pleased to welcome Kall on the board. She thinks Kall has “solid and well documented experience in development and change management, as well as in sales and marketing from numerous companies,” proving he is a valuable leader that will be valuable for the future development of the company. “Svenska Spel is an exciting company with a strong corporate brand and a number of popular gaming products,” said Kall of his new job. “Also, the connection to Swedish sports was very appealing to me. I am very honoured to be appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.” “My gaming experience can be summarised in my weekly lottery numbers, but I also have 30 years business experience in a variety of trades and markets. The common denominator has been an interest in consumer markets and a strong customer focus. I will bring this experience to Svenska Spel.” Related news
