Perica Bukara Wins Cyprus High Roller Event
24/08/2010, Poker Tournaments

Perica Bukara has just won the 2010 Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus Classic $25,000 High Roller Freeze-Out Event, after defeating a field of 36 players over three days of tournament. This was Bukara's first title in his live poker career. The winner, a Bosnian poker pro based in Germany, took home the $373,207 main prize.

The Merit Cyprus Classic Tournament took place at the Merut Crystal Cove Casino in Girne, Keryneia, Cyprus. The casino has organized multiple poker events, including the $25,000 buy-in Event, which was attended by 36 competitors. During the third day of the competition, the field was reduced to nine players including both pro and amateur poker players. Carter Phillips was the first to be eliminated, followed by Ziv Caps and one of the November Nine players, John Dolan.

The Bubble Boy of the competition was Sam Trickett, UK, who was defeated after three hours of poker beauty. Unfortunately, Trickett went home empty-handed. Shortly afterwards Joe Turner surrendered and cashed out a nice bonus of $41,467.
Then it was David Benyamine's turn to be eliminated in 4th place, with a gain of $82,938, although he was a key factor in the competitive poker event. Benyamine was the chip leader from Day 1.

It took four hours to establish the last three survivors of the final table: Bukara, Feldman and Miller.
The heads-up game was played between Perica Bukara and Ori Miller. Bukara was very lucky and held big hands when he needed.
Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus Classic $25,000 High Roller Freeze-Out Event was definitely Bukara's best result ever, and it was his third live tournament cash this August. On August 6th, he finished sixth in the Unibet Open in Prague and scored $37,000 and on August 11th he won another $20,000 in the Pokerstars EPT Estonia where he achieved a 14th placing.

Below are the results of the 2010 Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus Classic $25,000 High Roller Freeze-Out Event:
1. Perica Bukara $ 373,207;
2. Ori Miller $ 207,337;
