Thomas Gigliotti, 74, and his wife Josephine, 71, were robbed on Saturday morning when returning from the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood. The couple spent several hours playing Texas Hold'em at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and won about $4,000.

They returned home to Plantation early Saturday, where two armed men, wearing masks, pulled the old man from his car, knocked him to the ground and stole their money just in front of the Gigliotti's house.
Gigliotti jumped back into his car and chased the masked robbers in his 2000 Lincoln Navigator.
“This chase was one of the greatest chases you’ve ever seen. They went right, left. They made their mistake when they went on the straightaway,” said Gigliotti.

His actions were finally successful because the robbers jumped from their car and ran away with the money, leaving the damaged vehicle behind. Meanwhile, his wife phoned to the police from inside their home. 20 minutes later, the police informed her Mr. Gigliotti arrived to the police station.
“I was hugging everybody. I was so happy he was alive, because I said, 'I don't know what I would do if anything happens to him,'” the woman said.

Although Gigliotti's actions may have helped, the police said they would not recommend victims to put their own lives in danger for a property crime. The investigators are now following leads to track down the two masked robbers.
