Norwegian Player Wins EPT Tallinn
18/08/2010, Poker Tournaments
The European Poker Tour Tallinn was an inaugural poker tournament which attracted a total field of 420 players, making it the largest poker event ever held in Estonia. The Norwegian Online poker pro Kevin Santi was the lucky winner of the first place prize. He won the title, €400,000 in prize money and a seat at the Season 7 EPT Grand Final in 2011, after five days of first class poker fighting. Kevin Santi is a business management graduate who has been playing poker for seven years and registered some impressive results in online and live poker tournaments. His most notable results include a $134,000 cash at the 2009 WCOOP $10,000 High Roller event, a $108,000 first place prize at the 2009 PokerStars Sunday 500 and a $57,000 prize at the WSOP Main Event this year. “I was playing cash games online and just randomly saw the satellite advertised in the PokerStars lobby. I wanted to come here anyway so I thought I’d play it. It feels awesome to win. I’ve been through some tough times which have made it hard to focus, made it hard to play, but I stayed with poker and told myself things are going to get better. I’m glad I did,” said Kevin Santi. The final table results were: 1st Kevin Stani (Norway) - €400,000; 2nd Konstantin Bilyauer (Russia) - €250,000; 3rd Arnaud Mattern (France) - €160,000; 4th Dmitry Vitkind (Russia) - €120,000; 5th Mikko Jaatinen (Finland) - €80,000; 6th Steven van Zadelhoff (Netherlands) - €63,000; 7th Nicolo Calia (Italy) - €47,000; 8th Bassam Elnajjar (Lebanon) - €32,000.
