Do Lonely People Gamble More?
12/01/2010, Players
Others think playing at an online casino has even more aspects of isolation, players not being surrounded by other people as in a land based casino. People who choose to gamble at home are often accused of expressing an anti-social behavior. I personally believe this is a misled information because most of the people who play at online casinos are deeply involved in social activities, in their communities, they have families and careers which do not allow them to frequent land based casinos. They are socially active, so they play online games for fun and entertainment and the gains come as a bonus for them. Of course, there are many different types of gamblers, but we cannot say happy people gamble less than those who feel lonely, do we? I rather think lonely people who gamble frequently have dysfunctional brain activities such as the problem gamblers, caused by a moral breakdown of a weak individual. We've already seen in the “Problem Gamblers Have a Dysfunctional Brain Activity” article that studies show this kind of gambler is struggling with limits on his behavior, job, family, responsibilities and he becomes under-active. Gambling is not an activity especially created for a certain type of player. Everyone is fascinated by risk. Gambling means risking, or playing with your destiny. Everyone gambles in life, everyone gambles against odds. Heroes, explorers, investors, pilots, fire-fighters – we all face our destiny at least once in a lifetime. Why should we stop gambling in real casinos as long as we are in total control over the situation, and as long as we are able to gamble for fun, excitement and for some relaxed moments? Casino gambling activities are the extensions of the risk and chance in real life, where players can choose the stakes and they can determine when to stop the game. Related articles
