British Columbia Onlie Casino Re-Launched
23/08/2010, Online casino
British Columbia Canada was the first to offer online gambling in North America, but the results were disastrous. The site crashed on the first day it was launched. A month after the site was shut down to correct the security issues, PlayNow.com was relaunched on Thursday. The security problems affected 134 player accounts, 12 of which had “a measure of sensitive, personal information viewed by another player”. Officials from British Columbia Lottery Corp. said the privacy problem has been fixed and that they are sure no similar problems would occur in the future. However, they admitted that the corporation's image was affected and that they will have “to work hard to rebuilt” their player's trust. “We reacted very quickly once we saw the problem, shut the system down to protect our customers and the efforts we've put in place over the past few weeks in mitigating the problem have all been directed at ensuring the integrity of our customers,” Michael Graydon said. Michael Graydon also said that although they can choose to close their accounts and receive their any existing credit, the website has not received many requests from clients asking to get their money back. Most of them say they have been waiting for a legal online gambling form for many years and now they are very eager to sing up and play. US is the largest online gambling market in the world and PlayNow's shut down caused BCLC $150,000 a day in revenue. The costs of the outside investigations have not been released yet. Related news
