Two Canadian friends, Jesse and Brandon who are in their mid 20's, were playing on a slot machine at the Regina Casino, when they hit the largest jackpot ever won in the 14-year history of the casino. It seemed like their $40 gamble was more than enough to hit the jackpot.

All began when Jesse and Brandon decided to try their luck at the Regina Casino in Saskatchewan, Canada, over the weekend. At first they played at the roulette table, but they weren't as lucky as they would want to be, so they decided to return later on the same evening. When they returned to the casino, they saw the Monte Carlo slot machine was available, after it had been occupied for most of the night. After trying a few spins, their luck suddenly changed, as well as their lives.

Jesse and Brandon were shocked to see they hit the $913,940 jackpot on the Monte Carlo slot machine that had not been hit since May 2008.
“The bars popped into place in slow motion. Then, we were surrounded by people. I was extremely shocked. I didn’t say too much for the entire night. I was up until about 5 a.m. just sitting there,” said Brandon.
The two friends split their winnings, walking away with $456,970 each!
“It's a good friendship story,” said one of the boys. “Because of the randomness, we just never know when it's going to pay off.”

According to Gerry Fisher, senior vice-president of operations for Sask. Gaming, which operates the Regina Casino, this was the largest jackpot ever won at the casino and paid out by a single slot machine. He also said he was happy to see the Regina Casino reopened after its workers had been on a strike that lasted several months.
