FBI Investigates Full Tilt Poker Players
23/02/2010, Online poker
Full Tilt Poker, the online poker's second largest room and global provider of Internet poker, is currently being watched by FBI agents. The Federal Bureau of Investigations took the necessary measures to contact some players of Full Tilt Poker. Players who were contacted by the federal agents said the agents were almost exclusively interested in how transactions with Full Tilt worked. It is said that the Federal Bureau of Investigations is seeking evidence to lay a massive charge against Full Tilt Poker for serving the US poker public. FBI interviewed players from the Washington area. Washington is one of the US states that has a law prohibiting online poker and allowing prosecution against gaming patrons. The small stakes players were visited by the FBI agents without any warning and they were asked mainly about the transactional activities of the online poker room, rather then about their poker activity. They may have been warned that charges against them are pending. These visits from the FBI agents could have been done in preparation of the enforcement of the UIGEA, which will come into force on the 1st of June 2010. If the UIGEA implement the online gambling ban, Full Tilt Poker will suffer disastrous effects. Full Tilt Poker is the second largest online poker room and one of the fastest growing poker websites on the Internet. It features different poker variations including Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo and Razz. Full Tilt Poker is regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and it includes poker legends like Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Allen Cunningham, Phil Ivey, Mike Matusow and Andy Bloch. Their famous motto is: “Learn, chat and play with the pros”. Related news
